The pancreas of human body is a mixed secretory gland, which consists of exocrine gland and endocrine gland. Therefore, the pancreas has two major functions: exocrine and endocrine. The main exocrine component is pancreatic juice, which contains basic bicarbonate and various digestive enzymes. Its function is to neutralize stomach acid and digest sugar, protein and fat. The main endocrine components are insulin and glucagon, followed by growth hormone release inhibitory hormone, intestinal vasoactive peptide, gastrin and so on.

Among them, the role of insulin is:

(2) Promote glucomannan to enter muscle and adipose tissue cells.

(3) Activating glucokinase to produce glucose 6- phosphate.

(4) inhibiting gluconeogenesis
