Cantonese people eat glutinous rice on Xiaohan. This is mainly because Xiaohan is in the middle of winter, so you need to eat some warm foods to resist the severe cold. Glutinous rice is warm in nature and has the effect of replenishing qi and nourishing the spleen and stomach. It has a good tonic effect on spleen and stomach deficiency. Eat glutinous rice in moderation in winter. It can protect you from the cold and keep warm.
The cooking methods of glutinous rice vary from place to place, ranging from salty to sweet. Cantonese people must make sausage and bacon when making glutinous rice. These two things are the soul of the whole pot of glutinous rice. Specific methods:
1. Wash the glutinous rice and soak it in water for 2 hours. If you are in a hurry, soak it in hot water;

In ancient times, poor people used oil, salt and vegetables to cook rice, while those with better conditions used sausages, bacon, diced salted duck and glutinous rice, and chopped some chopped ginger. The glutinous rice in vegetable rice warms the body and replenishes qi, strengthens the spleen and warms the stomach, while ginger has the effects of warming the body, dispelling cold, and promoting sweating and relieving the body.
