We're familiar with Dr. Octopus as a man, but it's a woman in "Spider-Man: Parallel Universe," and that's where the magic of parallel universes comes in.

There are all sorts of Spider-Men in all sorts of universes, so there will also be many sorts of Dr. Octopus.

In the comics there are Dr. Octopus who has the power to control metal, and there are also Dr. Octopus who became Spider-Man.

This Doctor Octopus is called the Ultimate Spider-Man, so it's only natural that Doctor Octopus is a woman in Spider-Man: Parallel Universe.
