In the 19th year of the Jian'an era, Liu Bei took Yizhou, and Mi Zhu was appointed as the general of Anhan, with a status above Zhuge Liang, while Mi Fang stayed in Jingzhou, serving as the governor of the southern county, helping Guan Yu to defend Jingzhou. Guan Yu is a proud man and has always despised others, including Mi Fang and Fu Shiren.

In the 24th year of Jian'an, Lu Meng took advantage of Guan Yu's northward attack on Xiangfan and crossed the river in white, attacking Jingzhou, and Fu Shiren and Mi Fang surrendered successively, and Guan Yu lost Jingzhou, and himself was killed by Sun Quan.
