The brain is an organ of the human body, which is more complicated and full of mysteries than the most advanced computer in the world. The human brain weighs about 3 pounds, and it consists of two parts: the left hemisphere and the right hemisphere. These two parts are connected by the corpus callosum. The corpus callosum is actually a bundle of nerve tissue, which is responsible for coordinating the work of the left and right hemispheres. It connects the two hemispheres and realizes the transmission of memory and learning.
Two parts of the human brain: the left brain and the right brain.
It seems that the two parts of the brain-the left hemisphere and the right hemisphere-are very symmetrical, just like looking at each other in the mirror. However, they are actually asymmetric organizations, in other words, they have many differences in structure and function.
Functional division of left brain and right brain
The motor cortex is distributed at the top of the left and right hemispheres, and is bilaterally symmetrical in structure. Below the motor cortex is the sensory area, which also has a symmetrical structure, and is responsible for receiving and processing all kinds of information, which comes from the movement of skin, bones, joints, muscles and limbs. This area is sometimes called the tactile area. The division of labor between the motor area and the sensory area of the brain is very specialized: each specific area is responsible for controlling a specific part of the body, the left hemisphere controls the right hand and the right foot, and the right hemisphere controls the left side of the body.
The somatosensory and motor areas of the cerebral cortex
Each of these two areas of the cerebral cortex is associated with a certain part of the body. Most organs and tissues of the body are displayed in the corresponding parts of the cerebral cortex. The size of the corresponding area of the cerebral cortex that controls a certain part of the body has nothing to do with the actual size of this part of the body, but is proportional to the precision required to control it. The area used by the human brain to control the face and hands is relatively large, while the area used to control the shoulders, neck, buttocks, trunk and so on is relatively small.
The above is a schematic diagram of the visual conduction path. The information output by the retina is transmitted to the lateral geniculate nucleus through the axons of ganglion cells in the optic nerve; About half of each ganglion cell axon is connected to the opposite side of the brain, so that the visual scene from the left and right visual fields is projected to the lateral geniculate body of the opposite hemisphere, and then sent to the visual center of this side of the cerebral cortex. Although the stimulus received by each ear is transmitted to both hemispheres of the brain at the same time, the information input to the opposite hemisphere is usually stronger. Simply put, the information received by the right ear is sent to the left hemisphere first, and then to the right hemisphere.
As mentioned earlier, the brain is not completely symmetrical. Many specialized functional centers seem to be mainly located in this hemisphere or the other hemisphere of the brain. The speech center and auditory pathway are located on the left side of the brain just above the ear (Broca area). The sound memory area is behind auditory pathway. The language area (Wernicke area) is in the left hemisphere for most people, but in fact it can be formed in either hemisphere.
The difference and division of labor between left brain and right brain
There are 200 billion brain cells in the human brain, which can store 1 100 billion messages. The mind travels more than 300 miles per hour, has more than 1 100 megabytes of interlaced circuits, and produces 4,000 thoughts every 24 hours on average. It is the most sophisticated and sensitive organ in the world. It is found that there are countless resources to be developed in the brain, and the average person uses less than 5% of the brain power. The remaining part to be developed is the key to the performance of brain power and potential.
The human brain structure is divided into brain, cerebellum and brain stem. The brain consists of cerebral cortex (neocortex), limbic lobe (old cortex), brain stem and brain beam. The cerebral cortex can be divided into frontal lobe, temporal lobe and occipital lobe.
In addition, the brain is divided into left and right halves. The right hemisphere is the "right brain" and the left hemisphere is the "left brain". And the left and right brains divide all the structures of the brain equally. The left brain and the right brain have the same shape, but their functions are quite different. Left brain language, that is, using language to process information, converts the information that enters the brain to see, hear, touch, smell and taste (the five senses of the left brain) into language to convey, which is quite time-consuming. The left brain mainly controls knowledge, judgment, thinking and so on, which is closely related to conscious consciousness.
If the right brain is given a lot of memory, the right brain will automatically process these messages and derive creative messages. In other words, the right brain has autonomy, can exert its own imagination, think and visualize creativity, and has the excellent function as a storyteller. If it is a left brain, no matter how hard you rack your brains, it has its limits. However, as long as the memory of the right brain is combined with the thinking ability, it can be connected with the pre-linguistic pure thinking and image thinking without language, and the original idea will be magically triggered.
