What is a golden flounder?
Golden flounder, named after its golden fins, is also called golden flounder. They grow in coral reef waters between 49 and 70 degrees north latitude. Because the water temperature in the environment where they grow is very low, their growth rate is slow, so their life span is longer than that of ordinary fish. It takes 10 years for golden flounder to mature completely, and the mature female flounder is more than 30 cm long.
