Duobao fish is not a freshwater fish, but a fish that lives in the ocean. Duobao fish is the English translation and trade name of turbot, also known as European flounder. Scophthalmus maximus introduction project is the most successful example of marine fish introduction in contemporary China, and the successful promotion of aquaculture in the later period has made it one of the leading species of marine aquaculture in China.

It is distributed in the sea off the coast of Iceland at 68 degrees north latitude, along the coast of Scandinavia in the south and off the coast of Morocco at 30 degrees north latitude.
