Wuchang fish (scientific name: Megalobrama amblycephala), carp family, genus bream. In the 1950s, more than 30 researchers from the Institute of Aquatic Sciences of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), including Yi Buru, discovered that there was a kind of bream in Liangzi Lake that was not found in the previous literature. He named it as the group head bream, commonly known as Wuchang fish. The body length is 165-456 millimeters. The body is laterally compressed and high, rhombus-shaped, the mouth end position, the mouth fissure is wider, arc-shaped, the body is greenish gray. It is mainly distributed in medium-sized lakes in the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River. It is more suitable for still water life. Wuchang fish is rich in nutrients and can be eaten by the general public, and is suitable for both young and old. (Overview
