August melon (Latin scientific name: Holboellia latifolia Wall., alias: cashew nut), an evergreen woody vine of the Ranunculus family. It grows on hillsides and valley dense forest edges at an altitude of 600 to 2,600 meters.
The stems and branches have obvious lines, the palmate compound leaves have 3 to 9 leaflets, and the petioles are slightly slender; several flowers form a corymb-like raceme, and the fruits are irregular. Oblong or oval; many seeds, obovate, brown seed coat, flowering period from April to May, fruit period from July to September. It is distributed in China, India, Bhutan and Nepal, and in China it is distributed in Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, Jiangxi and southeastern Tibet.
