Unlike crucian carp or carp, silver carp and bighead carp like high temperature, and the most suitable water temperature is 23℃~32℃. In hot summer, silver carp and bighead carp have the strongest appetite. July to August is a good time to catch silver carp in the north. After the autumnal equinox, the weather is getting colder and the appetite of silver carp and bighead carp is reduced, so it is difficult to catch them. It is precisely because silver carp and bighead carp have obvious foraging seasonality that fishing friends must seize the last time of late summer and try to fish big silver carp.
First, the selection skills of fishing spots
Silver carp and bighead carp have an obvious feature, that is, their ability to withstand hypoxia is relatively poor. Once there is no oxygen in the water, they will float. Therefore, silver carp and bighead carp often live in waters with abundant water and algae. When fishing silver carp and bighead carp, the fishing point should be near the water inlet, where the green plants are lush or the plankton is dense. The water depth of fishing waters is about 2 meters. Silver carp and bighead carp have the strongest appetite at about 3℃. Therefore, July and August in summer are the golden seasons for fishing silver carp and bighead carp. However, in hot and windless weather, silver carp and bighead carp often float to the surface to absorb oxygen and rarely eat. Therefore, the most vigorous feeding time of silver carp and bighead carp in a day is from 8 am to 4 pm, and when the temperature is the highest, the biting rate of silver carp and bighead carp is also the highest.
second, the methods of fishing silver carp and bighead carp
There are many methods of fishing silver carp and bighead carp, which can be divided into three categories in general. The first method is bottom fishing, which is no different from the general method of fishing other fish by throwing a rod far into the bottom, except that the hook method is slightly different. The hook is not buried in the dough, but exposed outside the bait.
when loading bait for bottom fishing, take a piece of sour food and knead it into a bait ball the size of walnut. Put the tying lines of 8-1 sets of hooks tied into a group into the bait ball in order, knead the bait ball again, and then pull out the hooks from the lower end in turn and place them around the outer edge of the middle part of the bait ball equally. All hooks are exposed outside the bait ball, 2~3 cm away from the bait ball, and finally the bait ball is pinched up and down to make it gyro-shaped.
Another method is floating fishing with a rod. In this fishing method, generally, a long rod is used, the fishing line is even or slightly longer than the rod, and the single hook or double hook is installed to fish the middle and upper layers of silver carp and bighead carp. This fishing method needs to make a nest before fishing, and the nest material should also be specially used for silver carp and bighead carp.
When fishing with an empty hook, you can choose a bamboo hand pole with a hard body and a slightly thicker pole, and the fishing line is made of nylon thread with a diameter of .4~.5 mm, which is preferably the same length as or slightly shorter than the pole. The end of the line is tied with a small three-claw hook.
Third, the use of fishing tackle
Fishing for silver carp and bighead carp can use both sea poles and hand poles. We have mentioned the requirements of sea poles before, and there are two kinds of hand poles: general fishing poles and fishing poles. General fishing rods are carbon fishing rods, bamboo fishing rods, reed fishing rods and so on. For fishing, you need to use a bamboo hand pole with a hard body and a slightly thicker pole, and the length of the pole is 4.5~6 meters.
Fishing hooks also have special requirements when fishing silver carp and bighead carp. Large hooks should be used when fishing silver carp and bighead carp. The hook strip should have certain hardness and toughness, and the hook tip should be sharp.
finally, for the fishing group, transparent nylon line with a diameter of .3~.5 mm should be used for the fishing line, and the diameter of .4~.5 mm is suitable. The hook line can be slightly thinner than the main line, or it can be a soft cord twisted with three strands of nylon yarn. If floating fishing is carried out with a hand pole, it must be equipped with a small lead pendant and a large float.
