Taenioididae? Odontamblyopus? Non-venomous fish
The picture below shows the red Odontamblyopus rubicundus, commonly known as red eel Goby fish.
The body is elongated and the sides are flat, in the shape of a belt. Generally, the body is 9 to 20 centimeters long, weighs 20 to 35 grams, and has small, degraded eyes that are buried under the skin. The mouth is large and oblique, with the lower jaw and chin protruding forward. The outer teeth of the upper and lower jaws are 6 to 12 large sharp curved teeth protruding outside the lip. They are exposed outside the mouth when the mouth is closed, resembling a wolf tooth, dorsal fin, caudal fin, and anal fin. Connected to each other as a whole. The pectoral fins are wide and long, the upper fins are free and filamentous, and the body is naked and scaleless. All purple. The pectoral fins and pelvic fins sometimes have dark brown edges.
Mostly distributed in fresh water, semi-fresh alkaline water and sea areas in temperate zones, inhabiting muddy environments such as estuaries, bays, mangrove wetlands or sandy coasts. In places like Hong Kong and Vietnam, this type of fish is a delicacy on the table.
