Sweet potato was introduced to my country at the end of the 16th century. Its botanical classification is the genus Sweetpotato of the Convolvulaceae family, an annual or perennial trailing herbaceous plant. It likes warm nature and is intolerant to cold.

According to research, there are as many as 26 aliases for sweet potato. It is called white potato in Beijing, sweet potato in Hebei and Henan, sweet potato in Shandong, sweet potato and white taro in Jiangsu, red potato in Sichuan and Chongqing, and sweet potato in Fujian, Guangdong, Zhejiang and other places. Other names include yellow potato, golden potato, sweet potato, sweet potato, yellow sweet potato, red yam and other names.
