Macamaca, also known as Maca, Peruvian ginseng, maka, Maca Maca, maino, ayak chichira and ayak willku, originated in the Andes of South America at an altitude of 3,500-4,500 meters, and is now mainly distributed in Puno ecological zone in central Peru and Puno city in southeastern Peru.
