1, site selection
The choice of earthworm breeding ground is very convenient. Earthworms can generally be cultivated in front of the house, behind the house, in the yard, in old wooden boxes, waste barrels, pots, bamboo baskets or nursery grounds.
Step 2 put in seedlings
Sprinkle fresh cow dung 15-20cm on the earthworm farm, and then sprinkle seedlings on it. It is appropriate to invest 3000-5000 pieces per square meter, with Taiping 2 and Beixing 2 as the best varieties.
Step 3 feed bait
The bait should be animal and plant bait such as cow dung, pig manure, straw, leaves and weeds. Top-throwing pile method is adopted, and the thickness is 10 cm. Don't cover the bed completely, and it doesn't need to be flat, so you can separate the earthworms. Feed twice a month, turn over the bed before feeding, the thickness of each feeding is 10 cm, and the bait is always fresh and breathable.
4. Temperature and humidity conditions
The suitable temperature for earthworms to live is 15-30℃. When the temperature is lower than 12℃, the reproduction will be stopped. If it is higher than 35℃, there is a danger of thermal death. Therefore, attention should be paid to watering to cool down in high temperature season, and attention should be paid to covering in winter to keep warm. Earthworms do not require high humidity, and the relative humidity should be kept at 60-70%.
5. Daily management
In the process of breeding, under normal circumstances, feed is added once a month. It is an important link to promote the normal growth of earthworms to clean earthworm dung regularly and separate earthworms. At the same time, after feeding for a period of time, the bottom material can be properly turned over 1 time, and the upper and lower bottom materials can be turned over and replaced, which not only makes the bottom material loose and breathable.
6, timely harvesting
Earthworms were found in the culture bed, the density reached 20,000-30,000 per square meter, and 80% of the individuals reached more than 0.3g, which was the best harvesting time. The best harvesting method is natural light collection, which uses the characteristics of earthworm's fear of light to peel off the bait layer by layer, and finally concentrates the earthworm on the bottom layer to achieve the purpose of harvesting.
