Northern river crab: The head breastplate formed by combining the head and chest is square, with a pair of eyes at the front end of the body and two pairs of very sharp crab teeth on the side.

southern hairy crabs: the head and breastplate are round and square, with fine particles on the edge. The front part is narrower than the back part, and the back part is more prominent.

2. The back color is different

Northern river crab: the shell color is dark green.

southern hairy crabs: green back, crab shell is bluish gray, smooth and shiny.
