Lingshui Lizu autonomous countybelongs to a prefecture-level county directly under Hainan Province, and is not affiliated with any other city.
Lingshui Li Autonomous County is located in the southeastern part of Hainan Island, bordering the South China Sea to the east, Sanya City to the south, Baoting Li and Miao Autonomous County to the west, and Wanning City and Qiongzhong Li and Miao Autonomous County to the north. Lingshui County is a city and county with a large population of Li, Han and Miao, with a "large mixed population and small settlements". According to the seventh population census, as of November 1, 2020, the resident population of Lingshui Lizu autonomous county was 372,511 people.
Lingshui County was first established in 610 A.D. On December 31, 1987, Lingshui Lizu autonomous county was established. The territory of Lingshui County is 40 kilometers long from north to south and 32 kilometers wide from east to west, with a total area of 1107.53 square kilometers. The Haiyu East Highway and the East Highway both pass through the territory of Lingshui County, which is 197 kilometers from Haikou in the north and 65 kilometers from Sanya in the south.

Lingshui territory has a high terrain in the northwest and a low terrain in the southeast. The terrain mainly consists of mountains, hills and plains. The hills and mountains are mainly distributed in the northwest, and the plains are mainly distributed in the southeast coast. The county has 24 large and small mountain ranges***, with the highest point being the Triangle Peak of Hangluo Mountain at an elevation of 1,499.8 meters. Lingshui due to its location south of the Tropic of Cancer, the climate is tropical island monsoon climate, high temperatures throughout the year, wet and dry seasons, rainy summer and fall, dry winter and spring.
The average annual temperature is 25.2℃, and the average annual rainfall is 1,500 to 2,500 millimeters, mainly concentrated in August to October each year. With abundant light, no frost throughout the year, and evergreen in all seasons, it is one of the few natural greenhouses in China, suitable for the cultivation of tropical crops and anti-seasonal melons and vegetables. However, due to the influence of the island monsoon, it is hit by an average of 3 to 5 typhoons per year, with a maximum wind speed of 40 meters/second at 12 levels.
