Li Bai wrote only one poem about the Dragon Boat Festival, "Yin on the River".
Excerpts from the original text:
Qu Ping's poem "The sun and moon hang over the sky, and the King of Chu's terrace is empty on the hills." The five mountains are shaken when the pen is written in high spirits, and the poem becomes the smiling and proud Ling Cangzhou. If fame and wealth last forever, the Han River should also flow northwest.
Translation:
1. Qu Yuan, an outstanding politician and great poet, whose poems are as bright as the sun and the moon, and as long as the heaven and earth are harmonious, while the hustle and bustle of King Huai Where are the palaces and Prince Xiang’s towers now? There is nothing left, leaving only empty hills.
2. I took advantage of the drunkenness to write, and the majestic five mountains shook and shook. I composed the poems and chanted loudly, and the fairyland Penglai bowed at my feet.
3. Fame is like dirt, wealth is like floating clouds. They are fleeting and not lasting, just like the mighty Han River that swings eastward and turns south, but will never flow northwest.
Appreciation of "Yin on the River":
1. The whole poem contains twelve lines, with vivid images, exciting emotions, bold momentum and bright tone. When I read it, I just feel that it is a piece of divine work, completed in one go.
2. Judging from the structural organization of the whole poem, it is dense, skillful and original. The beginning is a colorful image description, which immediately leads the reader into an unusual realm.
3. The two couplets in the middle are a pairing and finishing, while the poetic meaning is a combination of positive and negative, which expands the capacity of the poem and makes the poem ups and downs. The last four sentences are extremely emphasized and exaggerated, and the emotions are more passionate, hearty and unrestrained, showing endless power.
4. Wang Qi said: "Although this kind of composition comes from talented people, it may not be a lot of bleak management. I am afraid that it cannot be understood in a hundred chapters of wine fighting" (Volume 7 of "Collected Works of Li Taibai") "Yin on the River" Note), this is a view that is in line with the actual creation after careful understanding.
