Southern Candle Leaf, Southern Candle Leaf is called Vaccinium bracteatum, also known as Southern Candle, which was called Inula tinctoria in ancient times. Evergreen shrubs or small trees, 2-6(9) meters high. Many branches, young branches pubescent, old branches purple-brown. Petiole 2-8 mm long, usually glabrous or puberulent. Leaf blade is thinly leathery, ovoid, rhombic-ovoid, lanceolate-ovoid, 4-9 cm long and 2-4 cm wide, with sharp apex, tapering, wedge-shaped base, wide wedge, serrated edge, flat and shiny surface, 5-7 pairs of lateral veins, extending obliquely to the edge. Branches and leaves are sour and often used as medicine. Distributed in East China, Central South to Southwest China.
