Head, thorax and anterior part of the abdomen are scale-free. Anal fin opposite second dorsal fin. Dorsal surface red, abdominal white; inner surface of the pectoral fins dark olive-green, with many blue spots scattered over the lower half, and an additional blue margin, black patches occasionally appearing on the lower half.
