1, artificial nutrients
When raising turtles artificially, it is generally unnecessary to use nutrients such as calcium. However, when feeding fresh feed, it is necessary to use nutrients that can be sprayed on the food surface, such as spraying calcium solvent on crickets, apples and other foods. Although it will not be effective in a short period of time, especially the effect of calcium supplementation will not be seen until a long time later, if the turtle lacks calcium, it will cause many diseases.
2. Artificial feed
Generally speaking, special feed for turtles should be used. For those turtles who are mainly herbivorous, they can be fed with tortoise feed. You can also feed the feed used by ornamental fish as an aid. For example, the feed for feeding large carnivorous fish will also be loved by carnivorous turtles, while the feed for goldfish is suitable for the early stage of feeding turtles because of its strong taste and sinking. Some of the feeds for feeding marine fish are mainly composed of algae, and some of them have a strong smell, which is suitable for supplementing plant nutrition for carnivorous turtles. In order to prevent some large turtles from getting fat, you can also use the feed fed to koi fish.
3. Dry feed
The most commonly used dried products of some seafood, but there are also views that there is too much salt in this feed. If it is only used as supplementary feed instead of main feed, it can also be used. Some river shrimps can be used frequently, and many turtles like to eat this feed. This kind of food is very easy to acidify after opening, so it is best to keep it in the refrigerator.
4. Fresh feed
As long as it includes small goldfish, river fish, small fish and shrimp, there are also some insects such as crickets and grasshoppers. If some kinds of turtles mainly feed on insects, it is difficult to raise them, so they can take insect food as their snacks.
5. Vegetables and fruits
When feeding vegetables or fruits to those aquatic turtles, be sure to cut them into a size that can be swallowed in one bite. Otherwise, it will only pollute the water and make turtles unable to eat. In addition, it should be cleaned immediately after eating.
6. Fish fillets and meat slices
You can eat meat and fish bought from supermarkets or fresh fish shops, but at best it can only be used as supplementary food. When choosing fish, you should avoid those kinds with high fat content. Intestine or liver can also be used in meat, but it must be cut into a bite size, otherwise the water quality will deteriorate quickly.
