1. How to preserve hairy crabs so as not to die
1. Store them in the refrigerator
Live hairy crabs can be stored in the refrigerator. According to the size of the freezer, find a suitable foam box. First, tie the legs and feet of hairy crabs, then put them in the foam box neatly, try to fill it with one layer, then add a proper amount of water to the foam box until it does not reach the surface of hairy crabs, and then cover the foam box.
2. Store in a plastic bucket
You can put live hairy crabs in a plastic bucket with a height of 3-5cm, and be careful not to stack them. Just add water to half the height of hairy crabs. If the water is too deep, hairy crabs will suffocate due to lack of oxygen, and the bucket does not need to be covered. Check the vitality of hairy crabs every day and eat them in time. With this method, hairy crabs can be stored for 5 days under the condition of low temperature.
3. Put it in the bathtub for preservation
You can use the bathtub as a breeding pond, gently put the bought fresh hairy crabs into it, inject water just past the hairy crabs so that they can breathe when standing up, and put a small amount of small fish and shrimps into the water according to the preservation time. This preservation method can keep the hairy crabs alive for 7 days or longer. Note that if the bought hairy crabs are not eaten immediately, they should not be washed with water, otherwise.
