The history of Yunnan Agricultural University can be traced back to Yunnan Agricultural School founded by 1907 and National Agricultural College of Yunnan University founded by 1938, located in Chenggong County, Kunming. Kunming Agriculture and Forestry College 1958 was established independently and moved to Heilongtan in the northern suburb of Kunming. 1962 Southern Yunnan University and Western Yunnan University were merged into Kunming Agriculture and Forestry College, 1969 moved to Binchuan County, Dali Prefecture, and 1970 moved to Xundian County, the former Qujing area.
197 1 merged with Yunnan agricultural labor university to form Yunnan agricultural university, and 1980 moved back to Heilongtan in the northern suburb of Kunming. In 2004, Yunnan Architecture and Engineering School and Yunnan Spice R&D Center were merged into Yunnan Agricultural University. 20 14 Yunnan Tropical Crops Vocational College merged into Yunnan Agricultural University.
