Myrica rubra, also known as Zhu Hong and Tianzhu, is widely planted in various areas south of the Yangtze River in China, and it is named because it is "like a poplar and tastes like a plum". One of the "famous fruits in the south of the Yangtze River" has the saying that "the taste of litchi in Fujian is not diminished" and is known as "the first suspicion is worth a thousand dollars".

Fugong Town, Longhai City is known as "the first town of Yangmei in Fujian". Myrica rubra has been cultivated for a hundred years and is the largest Myrica rubra producing area in Fujian. Its fruit is mature and listed in early May every year.

At the beginning of 2002, "Floating Palace Myrica rubra" was awarded the title of "Fujian Famous Brand Product" by Fujian Provincial People's Government. In April 2009, it won the honorary title of "Top Ten Famous Flowers and Fruits in Zhangzhou" again. On June 20 10, "Floating Palace Myrica rubra" passed the technical examination of national geographical indication product protection.
