Ewha Womans University was founded in early 1887, is Korea's first women's university. More than 20,000 students are enrolled, and is now the world's largest women's university. The original name of Ewha Womans University was Ewha Academy, which was named by Emperor Gojong and Empress Myeongseong of the Joseon Dynasty in honor of the wife of Dr. Scranton, a Methodist doctor, who was the first to establish women's education in Korea. The name was changed to Ewha Womans University in 1948. The English name is Ewha Womans University. Specialties:

Fees:

Application Fee: 500 Won (100,000 Won)

Korean Language Tuition: 16,471 won / half year (1,340,000 won per semester, four semesters a year)

Accommodation Fee: 7,500 won / 3 months (language trainees can apply for graduate student dormitories but the number of rooms is limited; undergraduates or graduate students applying for a dormitory have to be determined by a lottery to find out if they can move in or not, independent of whether or not they are foreigners)
