The Blue Margarita.
There is a poignant love story about the origins of the Blue Margarita. Once the winner of the 1949 National Cocktail Competition, the cocktail was created by Jane Dureza of Los Angeles, and the margarita was the name of his late lover.
In 1926, Jane Dureza and her lover were out hunting when Margaret was killed by a stray bullet. Jane Dureza was depressed from then on and named her award-winning wine after her in honor of her lover. The need for salt to make this wine is also said to be because Margaret was particularly fond of salty food during her lifetime.
