Itaewon CLASS is a South Korean television drama series that premiered on January 31, 2020 on JTBC, directed by Kim Sun-yoon, written by Kwang-jin, and starring Park Seo-joon and Kim Da-mi.
Adapted from a webcomic of the same name, the drama tells the story of Park Se-ro, a young man with an upstanding personality, who goes against the odds to write an entrepreneurial myth in Itaewon and seeks revenge against the people who killed his father.
Expanded:
The drama has a strong sense of network often found in manga dramas, and anti-clichéd persona. Highly combustible revenge plot, upgraded retrograde-style plot line, coupled with a good cast, can mobilize the audience's viewing mood extremely quickly. In contrast to the previous entrepreneurial theme, the main characters in this drama are not the well-dressed, privileged social groups, but rather the majority of them are seen as marginalized members of the society.
This group of small people in adversity, whether it is to the power of the social reality of the resistance, or not afraid of failure and ultimately reverse the high combustion anti-cliché plot, have made the drama stand out, this after the full strength of the cool drama has become a shot of heartbeat to impress the many viewers outside the screen.
