Ecological environment
White peony, also called white flower peony, has large roots and straight and smooth stems. It has been cultivated in my country for a long time and is a very important traditional Chinese medicinal material. White peony is suitable for growing in a warm and humid environment and is cold-resistant. It begins to grow vigorously in April and May every year. White peony is generally grown in fertile, ventilated soil. Large-area planting requires a good drainage system. Before planting white peony, distinguish the size of the bud heads and plant them separately to ensure neat growth and facilitate management.
Management methods
In early spring, loosen the soil of the land, weed according to the situation after the emergence of seedlings, and properly cultivate the roots. In early winter, before the ground freezes, the ground should be 10 centimeters above the ground. Remove the left and right branches and leaves and cultivate the soil again, which will help the white peony survive the cold winter. Starting from the second year, fertilize it in March and April, preferably with human excrement. The amount of fertilizer applied per acre is selected based on the actual situation. During November, fertilizer can be circled and the amount of fertilizer applied per acre is increased. Fertilize twice after that until just before harvest. Remove excess flower buds every year and irrigate appropriately.
Pests and diseases
It is inevitable to encounter pests during the planting of white peony. Therefore, it is necessary to remove diseased branches and leaves and spray a certain amount of drugs for prevention and control. The medicinal value of white peony is very high. The harvest period is usually in the fourth year after planting. The rhizome is cut off, the root is dug out, and the seed part is left. The rest can be used as medicinal materials after drying.
