Luhua chicken is very nest-aware. No matter how far it swims during the day, it goes back to the nest to rest at sunset. Therefore, it is very suitable for scattered feeding in different local areas (plains, hills, grasslands, mountains, etc.).
Site selection
Choose mountain forest land that meets the pollution-free requirements through environmental monitoring, and at the same time, the site is relatively closed, sunny, sheltered from the wind and dry. Therefore, the farm site is located in a contiguous forest far away from all pollution, and there is enough space for chickens to fly away. At the same time, grasses and herbs are planted in the mountains to increase forage, so that chickens can eat freely. A barbed wire with a height of about 3m is set around the forest land to prevent chickens from going out.
Although it is free-range, it is necessary to build a henhouse to provide a place for chickens to lay eggs and rest at night. The chicken coop is relatively simple to build, with the lee facing the sun, warmth, sun protection and rain prevention. The area is large enough, each square meter 15.
A wooden stick perch frame is installed in the shed for roosting, 3 ~ 4 layers of egg boxes are built around the wall for laying eggs, and light bulbs are installed in the shed for supplementary lighting at night. Sufficient distillers' grains and drinking fountains shall be provided, and 1 trough and 1 drinking fountains shall be provided for every 30 chickens. These devices shall be placed outside the house when the chickens are released.
