Origin: The wackv setup is said to have been invented by a novice angler in south Texas by mistake. He bought a pack of spaghetti worms on the recommendation of the fishing staff, and when he came back from a fishing trip, he showed him a huge catch, including some oversized bass, and the staff was so amazed at what a newbie could do that they asked him how he did it. The rookie showed him his setup, at which point the staff let out a gasp ( wacky means odd ) with "that's wacky" because the rookie didn't hang the soft bait properly with the Texas hook method, but instead hooked the hook through the middle of the soft worm. wacky setups got their name, and were popularized.
Recommended hook and bait combinations:No.3/2 hook + 3~4 inch soft bait, No.1 + 4~5 inch soft bait
Spaghetti worms
Spaghetti worms color recommendations:Watermelon red - for sunny days and clear water
Pumpkin green - for cloudy days and clear water, black or dark blue - for muddy water
The hooks can be hooked directly to the bait or through the protective ring Connection
Advantages: lead-free, low sound, won't scare the fish, suitable for high-pressure fishing conditions
Disadvantages: slow to fall, not suitable for deep water, windy, difficult to cast long distance
Applicable Fishing Conditions: Windless environment, shallow water, grassy/structured areas along the outer edges of the area, the junction between depth and shallow water
Target Fish Species: Largemouth Bass
Equipment Recommendation: Stiff L, fast-adjusting Straight rod + spinning reel
Handling:
The essence of Wacky fishing is to cast the bait to the water and let it fall naturally, so flow out the excess dashed line, the spaghetti worms will be trembling and falling, which is a very big temptation to the bass in the process of falling, you have to judge whether there is a fish hooked or not by observing the line or hooking your finger on the line to enhance the sense of it, and if the line is tightened or gone, then immediately tighten the line, and the line will be tightened. If the line suddenly tightens or goes out of line, then immediately reel in the line and raise the rod to stab the fish.
If you don't get a bite on the bait, slowly raise the tip of the rod when the bait settles and pull the bait off the bottom, then let it fall again
