The Dragon Boat Festival on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month is one of the four traditional festivals in China. It originally evolved from the ancient dragon totem sacrifice, because Qu Yuan, a poet of Chu State in the Warring States Period, threw a huge stone into the Miluo River to commit suicide, and later used it as a festival to commemorate Qu Yuan.
