Making flour paste
1. Prepare all the materials. Use a measuring cup to measure ? cup flour and ? cup water and pour into a medium bowl. This simple flour paste is perfect for party decorations or short-term preservation projects. It dries out, doesn't stick as long, and isn't suitable for long-term preservation.
2. Use a spoon to mix the flour and water in the bowl evenly. Stir until it's a consistency like pancake batter, not too thick or too runny. If you need more paste, just double the amount of all ingredients. If you don't need as much paste, measure the flour you'll be using first, then slowly add water, 1 teaspoon at a time, until you reach the right consistency.
3. Bring the paste to a boil over medium heat. Pour the paste into a deep saucepan and cook, stirring, until bubbling. When the paste starts to bubble, turn off the heat and let cool before using.
4. Use the paste as soon as possible after it is made. You can apply the paste to your craft with a brush or your fingers. It holds paper together and is suitable for many crafts and decorations, such as greeting cards and children's crafts. This paste will become moldy if left for a long time. To avoid this, dry your handiwork thoroughly on an electric heater.
5. Store in the refrigerator for later use. Store unused paste in an airtight container and place in the refrigerator. This paste will keep for a week or two. If the paste dries out, add some warm water and it can be used again.
