About the author Pat Harqun:
Born on June 18, 1942 in Yorkshire, England. She loved drawing since she was a child. When she was 16, she won a scholarship to a local art school. Three years later, she entered Leeds College of Art for further study, specializing in illustration. After graduating from university, she went to London and worked as a part-time shop assistant. Later, she joined an advertising company and became an assistant designer.
There she met her future husband, Lawrence Harqun. On July 21, 1965, they held a wedding, and two weeks later she was stationed with her husband to the American branch in New York.
After arriving in New York, she always wanted to engage in illustration work. At the suggestion of an editor at Macmillan Publishing Company, she wrote "Hen Rose Goes for a Walk", which was her debut novel published in 1968. She became famous instantly. Her works are brightly colored, the stories are humorous, simple and smooth, and she always approaches children's perspective and seriously faces their problems. They are deeply loved by children all over the world.
