The irritable-looking pipefish lives in one of the world's most inhospitable environments - the darkness of the ocean floor. The pipefish (anglerfish), also known as the "electric fish", is a strangely shaped fish that lives in the ocean. Its body length is usually 45 centimeters and can reach up to 2 meters. The tail root has a row of sharp spines where it meets the body of the fish, and the tips of the spines can produce venom. From the back of the body of the fish looking down, very much like a pipa, so called "pipa fish".
The pipefish, also known as the anglerfish, is a weirdly shaped fish that lives in the ocean. Its body length is usually 45 centimeters,
and can reach up to 2 meters. The body color varies from brownish-green to grayish-black, and the body surface also has colorful spots. The pipefish has a flattened body, a large head, well-developed dorsal and pectoral fins, and a long, whip-like tail. The root of the tail has a row of sharp spines where it meets the body of the fish, and the tips of the spines produce venom. When viewed from the back of the fish, it resembles a lute, hence the name "pipefish".
The pipefish is devious and cunning, often wagging its head and tail and scratching its head to lure prey. While most animals hide and then surprise their enemies, the pipefish
lures its prey to its table in a grandiose manner, takes it down in one fell swoop, and then enjoys it slowly.
The pipefish uses the worm-like fat fins on its back to lure small fish. In addition, the pipefish will disguise itself so that it looks separate from its body, like a bunch of water plants growing out of a coral bush, in order to surprise its prey.
Pipefish are sexually dimorphic, which creates an interesting dynamic balance between males and females. The male, as an accessory, will cling to the female's body and parasitize her for long periods of time so that the two fish are connected by blood. During the parasitization process, the male will gradually disintegrate until he disappears completely. Eventually, the male becomes the source of the sperm needed by the female.
