Lobster is an omnivore. Under natural conditions, larvae mainly eat organic debris, epiphytic algae or filamentous algae. As the larvae shell for many times, their bodies gradually grow up. Their food mainly includes aquatic worms, aquatic insects larvae, small crustaceans, water worms, snails, clams, fish and other animal debris. They also like to eat plump and juicy green plants, such as water hyacinth, bitter weeds and duckweed, and they also eat compound feed for fish and shrimp.

Lobster has teeth, but its teeth are not in the mouth but in the stomach. Lobsters were once mistaken for cannibals because lobster shells were found in their internal organs. In fact, these shrimp shells are old shrimp shells eaten by lobsters and discarded during shell changing. Although lobster is also a scavenger, it prefers fresh food, including fish, crabs and sea urchins. Lobsters can throw off their limbs to confuse predators, including claws, legs, large and small tentacles and so on. Sometimes lobsters will also throw away their claws due to some unknown factors.
