The common pathological leucorrhea in clinic are: colorless transparent sticky leucorrhea; White or grayish yellow foamy leucorrhea; Curly leucorrhea; Water leucorrhea, etc. The formation of leucorrhea is closely related to estrogen. When the secretion of estrogen reaches its peak, there will be more leucorrhea, which is transparent, sticky like egg white and can be pulled into filaments.

The increase of leucorrhea worthy of special attention is mostly the increase of pathological secretion, and there are the following types:

Yellow watery leucorrhea: it mostly occurs after persistent vaginal bleeding, and a large amount of purulent foul-smelling leucorrhea flows out of the vagina. Advanced cervical cancer, endometrial cancer or submucosal myoma with infection should be considered first. Patients with paroxysmal discharge should pay attention to the possibility of tubal cancer.

Purulent leucorrhea: yellow or yellow-green, sticky or foamy, smelly, mostly caused by vaginal inflammation, among which trichomonal vaginitis is the most common, and most of them have vulvar itching. It can also be seen in chronic cervicitis, senile vaginitis, endometritis, hydrops of uterus or foreign bodies in vagina.

Cheese-like leucorrhea or bean curd-like leucorrhea: mostly caused by mold infection.

However, cervical polyps, cervical erosion, submucous myoma, dysfunctional uterine bleeding, urethral caruncle, senile vaginitis and other benign diseases can also lead to bloody leucorrhea and a small amount of blood caused by intrauterine devices.

Dysuria with leukorrhagia: In typical gonococcal infection, leukorrhagia, like urethral secretion, is increased in quantity, yellow and purulent, showing intense inflammatory reaction. Cervical leukorrhagia caused by chlamydia has low viscosity and increased white serous cervical secretion.
