In the Song Dynasty, melon seeds that everyone could afford were added to the cakes. Later, in the Ming Dynasty, peanut kernels and almond or olive kernels, together with sesame kernels originally found in moon cakes in the Tang Dynasty, were finally settled in the Qing Dynasty.
