How to make the grilled mutton skewers, a must-eat in Xinjiang, fresh and tender without any fishy smell?
Today I will share with you how to make kebabs at home. After they are done, the smell of mutton will fill the house. It tastes so delicious and enjoyable. Let me show you how to make it
My grilled lamb skewers
1. Prepare fresh lamb first. It is recommended to use lamb leg meat for grilled lamb skewers. I bought less than 3 kilograms of mutton at a time, more than half of which was used to grill mutton skewers, and a small part was used to stew mutton soup. Cut all the mutton into small pieces and put them in a bowl
2. After all the mutton is cut, start marinating the mutton. First cut some onion shreds and put them in the mutton bowl.
Add an appropriate amount of salt and a small amount of water to the bowl and stir. Stir the mutton evenly and marinate for half an hour. Remember to only add onions and salt for seasoning, no other ingredients are needed. When marinating, adding a little water is mainly to allow the onions and salt to penetrate into the meat. Only the mutton can fully absorb the water, so that the roasted mutton will be tender.
3. Prepare the bamboo skewers for skewering mutton skewers, clean them, and then soak them in water for a while. In this way, the bamboo skewers will not be easily burnt when roasting the mutton
4. After the mutton is marinated, skewer it one by one with bamboo skewers.
5. After all the mutton is skewered, start grilling. We don’t have an oven at home, so we bake it in the oven. There is no fumes when baking in the oven, making it safer and more secure to eat.
I set the upper and lower temperature to 200 degrees and the baking time to 20 minutes. You can decide this based on the actual situation. My mutton pieces today are relatively large, so the setting time is relatively long. After grilling for 20 minutes, take out the lamb skewers and brush a layer of oil on both sides, then evenly sprinkle with red pepper powder and cumin powder. Then put it in the oven and continue to bake for 3 minutes
6. The picture below is a display of the finished product of the grilled mutton skewers. The mutton kebabs made by yourself at home are not only delicious, but also safe and hygienic to eat with confidence.
My favorite is grilled mutton skewers. The aroma fills the whole house and can be smelled downstairs. Grab a big handful and enjoy the skewers. Pair it with a small beer. Hey, it’s really satisfying. addiction!
