The dog Rex is a well-known star dog. Its status in Hollywood is comparable to that of a first-class star. It eats fine and expensive dog food, is surrounded by shadow fans, and lives a happy life of pampering all day. However, an accident turned Rex's carefree life upside down. In a shooting, Rex accidentally fell from a height of several thousand meters, and his companions thought it would die. In fact, Rex was lucky enough to land on a truck carrying tomatoes, and after several twists and turns, he came to the home of 12-year-old boy Shane Fay (Josh Hutcherson).

Shane lives in a single-parent family. He and his father, Bruce Greenwood, who is the captain of the fire brigade, are simply a pair of quarrelling enemies. The arrival of Rex makes Fay more lively.
