2. Selection of site. The site for raising local chickens should be in barren hills or mountainous areas where roads and hydropower investment provinces are available, where there is no industry and pollution nearby, where people flow less, where the crown is small and the fruit trees are sparse, where the surface vegetation is rich, and 60% of the terrain in the breeding area should be relatively flat. The terrain should be leeward and sunny, high and dry, and it is convenient to take water. It is forbidden to have chicken farms along the river, and the distance between fields is not less than 200m m.
3. Construction of chicken house. You can build a simple chicken barn. In places with poor conditions, bamboo and cement sticks can be used to build a simple henhouse with a eaves height of 2m, with asbestos tiles at the top and plastic sheets around it. An exit is opened at each end of the shed to facilitate the entry and exit of breeders and chickens, as well as ventilation. The main support of the shed is fastened with iron wire in four directions. Generally, the shed is about 5m wide, about 10m long, about 2m high in the middle and about 1m high on both sides.
4. Choice of feed. The quality of feed can directly affect the quality of native chicken and its by-products. Considering the growth stage of native chickens, during the brooding period, the whole family chicks are mainly fed, and after stocking, the ingredients are mainly self-prepared. Among them, self-ingredients include concentrate, green feed and fresh feed. The concentrate is mainly composed of corn and soybean meal, supplemented by wheat, rice bran or bran, and some compound premixes. Green feed includes all kinds of crop by-products and grasses, while fresh feed includes all kinds of insects.
