On the outskirts of Chiang Mai, it is only 30 minutes' drive from the ancient city. There are two famous scenic spots on the mountain, Puping Palace and Shuanglong Temple, which are also summer resorts and Buddhist shrines. After visiting the ancient city, this is probably the simplest and best way to play around Chiang Mai compared with jumping in the jungle and riding an elephant. Take a selfie at Puping Palace, feel the charm of faith and architecture at Shuanglong Temple, and overlook the panoramic view of Chiang Mai ancient city.
Puping Palace
The palace is not as grand as expected. It only takes three hours to take a picture and turn around. The royal architecture inside does have Thai characteristics, but it's a pity that the interior of the building can't be visited. Scenic spots 10 are buildings and gardens. It is said that the queen's favorite is the rose garden, but personally, unknown flowers and asphalt roads down the mountain are more artistic.

In Shuanglong Temple, most people come to worship. Believers make a wish clockwise around the golden pagoda with relics, holding lotus flowers and chrysanthemums and placing flowers next to the golden pagoda. Here, we believe in Hinayana Buddhism and worship three treasures: Sakyamuni Buddha relic, crystal lotus given by the Nine Emperors, and Siddhartha Gautama in Daxiong Hall.
Access tips:
1. Admission: 30 baht.
2. Visit clockwise, that is, enter from the left. Entering the threshold of the temple is also to take the left foot first;
3. Offering lotus flowers to Buddha is to pray for peace and health; If you use roses, you are asking for affection. If you watch a monk enter a temple with a rose in his hand, you can be sure that he will return to his original nature in the near future and pray that the feelings of distant lovers will not change. Thai monks usually become monks in July, 10 and March;
4. Take off your shoes in the temple; Wear long-sleeved trousers;
5. Don't go too early. If there is fog, you can't see the panoramic view of the ancient city. It is best to go in the afternoon or evening;
6. If you want to listen to the explanation but feel that you don't need to spend money, you can go to other people's groups. There are many China commentators (I always listen to them);
7. You can take a cableway to the main hall at the foot of the mountain, with 50 Thai plants per person. It is recommended to take a one-way ropeway up and down. The ropeway is also very distinctive, that is, it looks like an elevator, but it looks like a small train when climbing the track ~ you can see the glazed Shuanglong when you walk down more than 300 steps.
