The genus Cobra (scientific name: Naja) is a genus of cobras in the family Cobraceae, most of whose members are collectively known as cobras. There are a number of other snakes in the world whose names include the word "cobra" (e.g., king cobras, water cobras, spitting snakes).
But they are not classified as such because of a lack of evolutionary affinity.
The genus Cobra currently has about two recognized species
