The snow clam, scientifically known as the northeastern forest frog.

The snow clam belongs to the amphibian class, anuran, frog family, frog genus, China is distributed in Heilongjiang, Jilin, Liaoning, Inner Mongolia (northeast). Foreign distribution in Russia (Far East), Mongolia (East), North Korea, Japan (Tsushima Island).

The frog is a famous economic frog species in China, the dried product of nutrients in the oviducts of female frogs, namely Northeast forest frog oil. The frog is named "snow clam" because it can hibernate for up to five months in the middle of winter.

Northeastern forest frogs generally live in the hills near the seashore to about 900m above sea level in the mountains of the wet environment of good vegetation, in the forest, scrub, grassland, and lakes, ponds, swamps and farmland and other static waters and its vicinity are traces; its action is agile, and can quickly avoid the enemy, not easy to catch.
