Shu Xian came back from burning incense and was dragged to the sorghum field by Yu Lang. After Shu Xian broke free, Yu Lang pried open Shu Xian's door, and what happened afterwards was seen by Jiu-Er and his partners. "Red Sorghum" tells the story that the protagonist and heroine jointly run a sorghum winery after several twists and turns. However, during the Japanese invasion of China, both the heroine and the employees of the winery were tortured to death by the Japanese army for participating in the resistance movement.

Shu Xian was pulled to the sorghum field by Yu Lang on his way back from burning incense. Shu Xian pushed him away and ran away in panic. Jiu-Er said he had lost his hairpin and asked the man to help him find it in the backyard. Yu Lang pried open Shu Xian's door and entered the room. Jiu-Er and his friends ran into Shu Xian and Yu Lang. They were in rags and rolled on the bed. Jiu-Er publicly accused Yu Lang of seducing Shu Xian. Lohan came over and saw the scene before him.
