Because it’s really healing!
I was a novice in the kitchen until I was 25 years old. Later, I started to explore cooking skills because I went to study in the UK and no one cooked for me. And Britain is a traditional baking country with a complete range of materials and tools, so I embarked on the path of no return for baking. After returning to China, I continued to bake after work. It can be said that this is a hobby that is quite beneficial to others and myself.
I work as a teacher, and I have to concentrate 100% during class. Sometimes when I get home, I really don’t want to think at all. Therefore, baking during your break can completely relax your brain. Whether you are kneading dough, beating egg whites, or watching the fermentation process of bread, you can relax as much as you want. After completing these procedures, the usually tense nerves seem to relax.
In addition, unlike Chinese cooking, Western baking is very precise. If the parameters such as the proportion of yeast and flour and the temperature of fermentation are slightly changed, the finished product will be very different. Therefore, the process of baking can also hone one's temperament. At first I thought it was troublesome and didn't want to use a kitchen scale, so I just randomly measured the amount of ingredients. As a result, I ended up making the bread into a cake for the first time. After that, weigh it strictly according to the recipe, and the result will be beautiful bread. After doing a lot of baking, I feel that my frizzy personality has become much more rigorous.
Finally, the happiest part of baking is of course seeing the finished product! When baking toast, I watched the short fat man in the oven grow taller and emit an alluring aroma of wheat; after the cake cooled, I cut it from the middle to see the soft texture; the nutty mochi was made with great effort Soft Ou, one bite, full of fillings. These joys are incomprehensible to those who have never baked.
In short, I will continue to make healing baking. I am busy in the kitchen alone, and finally make my family and friends happy with the finished product. This is the small blessing in the busy life. ah!
