Jilin Food Tour: Checked out eight restaurants in Changchun, these three impressed me the most

Mango Travel Diary: I have been to Jilin twice and was particularly impressed by Jilin cuisine, especially its food raw materials, such as rice, corn, vegetables, cold-water fish, etc., which are particularly fresh, high-quality, soft, glutinous, and sweet. I have never forgotten them after eating them.

My friends brought rice and corn home directly when they returned.

This time I went to Changchun, Jilin again. I stayed for six days and five nights and ate at eight restaurants (breakfast not included). Three of them impressed me the most and were rated very highly by locals. Let’s introduce them one by one below.

1. Store 1928 on the first day of the Lunar New Year. Recommendation index: five stars. Address: 400 meters south from the intersection of Dongnanhu Road and Dongling South Street, Changchun City (west side of Hongcheng International). Cuisine: Northeastern cuisine. Environment: Republic of China style.

I have been to Changchun twice and ate at this restaurant both times. It was brought here by locals. It is said that it was a sensation in Changchun when it first opened, and there was always a long queue at the door.

As soon as I walked into the restaurant, I felt like I was back in the Republic of China period. The posters, signboards, and objects on the walls were all in the Republic of China style, giving me a nostalgic feeling.

I ordered the signature dishes: braised tofu (you can see the process of making tofu in the restaurant tofu shop), snow-coated bean paste (actually made of eggs), butchered vegetables, ribs stewed with fried beans, pot-wrapped pork, fat-headed fish, blood sausage,

The chive boxes, etc. all taste good and are quite suitable for Cantonese tastes.

If you want to find a restaurant with a good environment and a relatively authentic Northeastern restaurant, I recommend the 1928 restaurant on the first day of the Lunar New Year, with an average price of 80-120 yuan per person.

2. Dingyuan Power Ceiling Stove Roast Pigeon Theme Restaurant Recommendation Index: Five Stars, Address: The intersection of Linhe Street and South Third Ring Road, Changchun City (near Zhonghai Experimental Primary School), Dishes: Barbecue.

This is also a restaurant recommended by local foodies in Changchun. It is said that it is a very popular and relatively old barbecue restaurant in Changchun. It has several branches. The Linhe Street store has a more fashionable decoration and a relatively large area. There are many customers, so you need to book a table in advance.

The signature of Dingyuan Power is the pigeons burned in the hanging furnace. In the words of a friend from Changchun, the pigeons burned in Changchun carry the weight!

It tastes really good, with crispy skin and tender meat.

The hanging oven chicken feet (also called chicken hands) in this store also sell very well. They are all grilled raw, so it takes a long time. We ordered the chicken feet from the beginning, and it took more than 40 minutes to eat them.

The beef and mutton are also very delicious and worth recommending.

It is said that the two must-do things in Changchun are taking a bath and eating barbecue. If you want to try a more authentic environment and better barbecue, you can try Dingyuan Force, which costs about 90 yuan per person.

3. Hanzhuang flagship store recommendation index: five stars, address: Jilin Road, Erdao District, Changchun City, cuisine: Korean cuisine, environment: Korean style.

The Hanzhuang flagship store is said to be particularly famous for Korean cuisine in Changchun. Some of the waiters are from North Korea and can speak Chinese. The outside booths are decorated in Korean style and sit on the floor.

I particularly recommend the ginseng chicken soup. It is really a chicken soup made with ginseng. It is golden in color and has a rich and delicious taste.

The rice sausage (rice wine) in this store is also very delicious. It tastes sweet, a bit like Xinjiang kvass.

In addition, I also like the taste of slate tofu and cake.

If you want to eat more authentic Korean food in Changchun, you can try Hanzhuang flagship store.

In addition, I have eaten at Chaah Chong Hotel, Shenlufeng Restaurant, Tiandingshan Restaurant, Guoxin Nanshan Restaurant, etc. The tastes are all good, but they are either not in the urban area or not as distinctive as the above three restaurants.

These three restaurants cover three distinctive styles of Jilin cuisine: Northeastern cuisine, barbecue, and Korean cuisine. They are all restaurants with good reviews recommended by locals, and I personally like them very much.
