1: Hongshan Park
Hongshan is the symbol of Urumqi. It is a folded fault mountain, which stands abruptly in the center of the city. Because the mountain is mainly composed of Permian purplish red glutenite, it is named Hongshan. It faces Yamarik Mountain in the west across the Urumqi River. The mountain trend is east-west, and the main peak is 1391 meters above sea level. Whenever the morning dawns, the rock wall reflects the sun and the red light shines, hence the name. It is also called "Hutou Mountain" and "Hongshanzui" because the mountain is like a tiger with extraordinary momentum and red rocks. Hongshan confronts Ya Maric Mountain (commonly known as Demon Mountain), which is less than a kilometer away. At the foot of the mountain, the Urumqi River runs through the north and south. Legend has it that Hongshan is a red dragon flying from Tianchi Lake, which turns into a rock, but it still climbs slowly towards Yamarik Mountain. If the two mountains are closed and the Urumqi River is blocked, the city will turn into Wang Yang Zeguo. Thus, in 1788, Shang 'an (a superstitious Manchu local official), the capital of Urumqi, ordered the construction of a nine-level blue brick "Zhenlongbao" on each of the two "dragons". Among them, the tower on the top of Hongshan Mountain has survived to this day, while the tower on the top of Yamarik Mountain was blown down by strong winds more than 2 years ago and has only been newly restored in recent years. In the fourth year of Jiaqing in Qing Dynasty (1799), a Jade Emperor Temple was built. This temple is "majestic with chalk walls in songkhla", commonly known as the Red Temple. There are also religious buildings in the foothills, such as the Great Buddha Temple, the Beidou Palace and the Dizang Temple. Local officials and people have the custom of climbing the red mountain to the east to "sacrifice" Bogda. Later, due to the war, all the above temples were destroyed by the war. Today, the hilltop temple is newly built in recent years.
Second: Erdaoqiao
There is a saying among the people that "if you don't reach Erdaoqiao, you won't reach Urumqi". Now entering Erdaoqiao, it seems that a colorful picture of folk customs is slowly unfolding in front of you.
There is Erdaoqiao Market, a century-old market for commodities with ethnic characteristics, Xinjiang Min Street, which is the largest display of ethnic culture in northwest China, and Xinjiang International Bazaar, which consists of an indoor ethnic commercial shopping exhibition square, an indoor ethnic food singing and dancing square, an open-air happy square, an 8-meter-high sightseeing tower, a sightseeing mosque and a 5-meter-long pedestrian street.
All this makes Ji Guangzu, an old man who has lived in Erdaoqiao area for more than 5 years, deeply moved. "In the past, it was a mud road and an earthen bungalow. When it rained, the house often leaked rain." Ji Guangzu, 7, lives in Salasi Community, Erdaoqiao Community, Jiefang South Road Street. He said that Erdaoqiao used to be full of bungalows, and the only second floor was the building of Erdaoqiao Market. Looking at the present Erdaoqiao, the old man Ji Guangzu said: "The change is so great that I don't know many places. High-rise buildings and flashing neon lights, Erdaoqiao today has the most ethnic commercial street in Urumqi, and it is also a place that reflects the exotic scenery and the business characteristics of ethnic minorities in Xinjiang.

Urumqi Water Park is located at the southern end of the urban area, in Yanerwo Natural Scenic Area, covering an area of 1 square kilometer, with a green coverage rate of 8%. On both sides of the road, trees are shaded and flowers are fragrant. Wild reeds are distributed in 18, square meters of natural waters, forming a natural ecological wetland. On the rippling water surface, speedboats and yachts pass through the water-colored lake. The antique Great Wall, which is 1, meters long, bends and twists, with one end in the depths of the playground and the other extending straight out of the water, which is commonly known as the "old faucet" beyond the Great Wall. National architecture is a major feature of the park, and the 3-meter viewing corridor stands in the front area, which is tall and majestic. The gazebo, which reflects the regional culture, stands by the lake and is beautiful and spectacular. Beautiful green grass connects lakes, mountains, pavilions and corridors, symbolizing the confidence of people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang to unite as one and build a beautiful home in Qi Xin.
There are nearly 6 kinds of amusement facilities in the water park, and it ranks among the top ten amusement parks in China. The super-large three-ring atomic pulley, the 58-meter giant ferris wheel, the only bungee tower with four super-high combinations in China, the Freedom Tower of Time Shuttle, the international standard go-karting track and freehand rock climbing, and the first large-scale comprehensive marine aquarium in northwest China have propped up the amusement backbone of the park. The paradise resort consisting of snow house, castle, Dai building and windmill building provides a leisure place for amusement; On the south bank of the lake, the flower orchard composed of grapes, fruit trees and Chinese roses unique to Xinjiang constitutes a more beautiful landscape for the water park. Today's water park has beautiful scenery, beautiful flowers and trees and a strong cultural atmosphere, making it an excellent place for Chinese and foreign tourists.

Xinjiang Salt Lake is just beside the expressway from Urumqi to Turpan, only one hour's journey from the city. Salt Lake is located at the northern foot of Tianshan Mountain, 72 kilometers away from Urumqi and 12 kilometers away from Dabancheng in the east. Brand-new small wooden houses and pavilions have been built on the beach by the lake, and a long newly built wooden trestle leads to the depths of the salt lake.
The salt lake covers an area of 37 square kilometers, and the floating area on the lake is a salt pit of about 3 square kilometers. There are abundant surface water resources near the salt lake. 1 kilometers northwest of the lake is a fresh water lake in Chaiwobao, which is larger than the salt lake. They belong to different water systems, but the water in the stratum seems to be connected.
Xinjiang Salt Lake and the Dead Sea in the Middle East have almost the same high buoyancy, but the composition of the lake water is different. The main component of the Dead Sea is magnesium chloride, followed by halite; The main component of salt lake in Xinjiang is mirabilite, followed by halite. The salt lake is rich in salt, which can keep people floating on the water.
Precautions:
Going into the water in the salt lake is different from ordinary swimming. You can't have any wounds on your body, otherwise you will be "killed" by the brine and feel unbearable pain. The concentration of brine in salt lake is high. In order to prevent harm to health, besides swimming clothes, three things are necessary: earplugs, nose clips and glasses. This is to prevent brine from irritating the inner ear, nasal cavity and eyes.
Xinjiang is a beautiful and mysterious place, where the local customs are not only rich in tourism value, but also high in humanistic value. Grapes in Turpan, melons in Hami, fragrant pears in Korla, crispy roasted nang, mutton kebabs and pilaf are waiting for you to taste.
