Ingredients: rice: appropriate amount, water: appropriate amount.
1. Soak the rice in a large container for half an hour to allow the rice to absorb water and expand. You don’t need too much water, just cover the rice grains and be a little taller.
2. Boil a pot of water, put the wooden bucket in the water, and pour the soaked rice into the wooden bucket.
3. After about eight minutes, open the lid and stir the rice grains a few more times with chopsticks to allow the upper and lower rice grains to be heated more evenly.
4. Prepare a pot of boiling water. After 15 minutes, pour the steamed rice into a large container, add boiling water, cover and soak for 5 minutes.
The amount of boiling water is enough to cover the rice grains.
5. Cover the lid and simmer the rice with hot water until it is half cooked.
6. Remove the soaked rice grains, drain them and pour them into a wooden barrel. Use chopsticks to insert some small holes in the rice grains. Cover with a lid and steam over medium heat for 20 minutes.
7. After steaming for 20 minutes, the wooden barrel rice with rich woody aroma will be ready. Be careful when opening the lid and be careful not to burn your hands.
