The vegetable market in Yunnan will never let you down, especially in Dali. After living in Dali for 7 months, I visited all the large and small vegetable markets in Dali, each with different characteristics, and shared three of my favorite Dali vegetable markets.
1. Beimen Vegetable Market in Dali Ancient City
Beimen Vegetable Market is the most romantic and healing vegetable market. Here, buying vegetables is as important as buying flowers. Ten dollars for a handful of lotus flowers and ten dollars for a handful of sweet-scented osmanthus to realize the freedom of flowers. Live chickens and ducks, fresh vegetables and fruits, even though I have been here for half a year, there are still many things that local people have never heard of. Go to Beimen vegetable market every morning, and it will always bring you surprises.
2. South Gate Green Jade Farmers Market in Dali
If the North Gate Market is the best place to visit, then the South Gate Market must be the best. In this vegetable market, besides vegetables and fruits, the cooked food area is the most famous. There are more than ten kinds of chicken feet, rolled powder that seems to roll everything, burnt crispy pork belly, eight bowls made by local Bai people, freshly baked fish and mouthwatering chicken with rich seasonings. This is a mouth-watering vegetable market.
3. Taixing Transitional Market in Dali
It is the most complete and largest vegetable market in Dali. It seems that everything can be bought here, and the division is very detailed. Pork area, beef area, mutton area, wild mushroom area, pickles area, bait block milk sector, vegetable area, bacon area, seafood area, and a miscellaneous street, you can think of daily necessities here.
Of course, in addition to the major vegetable markets, Dali also has the March Street Market four times a month, which is the favorite place for locals to visit, and the price is even cheaper than the vegetable market. Don't miss it if you come to Dali!
Is it appropriate to go to Kanas in October?
