Pea powder is a special snack in Yunnan, and many people will cook it at home. Although pea powder is called "powder", it is not powder, but a dish with a jelly-like taste. The taste is smooth and refreshing, with a hint of pea fragrance. Later, as more and more Yunnan people moved to Myanmar, this delicious food can also be tasted in places where Chinese in Myanmar gather.
Pea powder is eaten in a special way, showing different forms according to different cooking methods. Boiled but not cold pea paste is called "thin bean powder", which is hot and thick and is the best snack to warm the stomach in cold weather. Pea powder concentrated into blocks can be cold-mixed and fried, and it can be mixed with sweet or salty taste, and the changes are very rich.

This pea powder snack seems simple, but the making process is not easy.
Production technology of pea powder
1. Soak peas in clean water for 4-5 hours to soften them. Generally, beans in pea pods are mostly cyan, but pea powder is yellow beans in mature pea pods, and its aroma and taste are different from those of green peas.
2. Add some water to the soaked and softened beans, and then grind them into pea pulp.
3. The pea slurry needs to be filtered layer by layer to remove impurities, and then it is allowed to stand for about 2-3 hours to precipitate the starch in the pea slurry to the lower layer.
4. Add turmeric powder to the pea water in the upper layer and boil it, then add the starch in the lower layer, as well as a little salt and monosodium glutamate, and stir while cooking. Keep warm after boiling, that is, thin bean powder.
5. After the bean powder is cooled and solidified, it is commonly known as pea powder.
