The tectonic position of Taishan area belongs to the west of Tai (An) Lai (Wu) fault basin in the northwest of Luxi fault block uplift area of mid-term paraplatform. Stratigraphic division belongs to Taian community in Luxi division of North China stratigraphic area. The exposed strata are Archaean Taishan Group, Lower Paleozoic Cambrian and Ordovician, Cenozoic Eogene and Quaternary.
The Taishan fault (belt) is located at the southern foot of Mount Tai, and consists of several parallel faults, most of which are covered by Quaternary diluvial deposits, and only sporadically exposed. Chenjiazhuang fault strikes 70, inclines to the southeast, and the dip angle is 70; Daidao 'an fault plane strikes 45, inclines to the southeast, and the dip angle is 87; Damazhuang fault plane strikes 47, and spreads in gentle waves along the strike.
